Our Mission
Wesley Church of Hope is a healing place, connecting to the community through fellowship, reaching the lost, and sharing God’s love.
Our History
In July, 2003, the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church approved the merger of Wesley UMC and Church of Hope UMC to create Wesley Church of Hope UMC.
The rich history of Wesley Church of Hope goes beyond the date of our merger between Wesley United Methodist and Hope United Methodist Church. Our history prior to the merger of Wesley UMC and the Church of Hope includes prior mergers of Pennsylvania Avenue Methodist Church, Aldersgate UMC, Hope UMC, and Wesley Chapel.
Wesley Church of Hope has had six pastors. The Rev. Mamie Jenkins, Rev. Richard Walker, Rev. Richard Dunbar, Leo Cunningham, Dr. Charles W. Ferguson, and Rev. Theresa Wallington-Tipton. The current pastor is Rev. Richard Dunbar.
Ways to Serve
Discover your purpose and ways to use with your gifts, talents, and time.
“With what shall I come before the Lord,
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with[a] thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
